Resist + Win

Michelle trained 60,000+ MoveOn members on foundational organizing skills with an equity lens. she organized 40+ leaders in the midwest to organize their communities to get out and volunteer for progressive champions. She also led the field team's equity work as the summit equity lead and equity working group member.

 

Resist + Win Leadership Summit

August 2018
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Michelle served as the Equity Committee Chair for this two-day Leadership Summit, with hundreds of grassroots movement leaders from around the country, was the culmination of MoveOn’s Resist & Win training program. She served as lead coordinator for the equity training day and the care team program.

 

Not To Scale

January - October, 2018
Covington, Kentucky

Michelle was a collaborator of Not To Scale, a video resulting from two live performances that took place on February 3rd, 2018 that included residents and other stakeholders of the Eastside neighborhood in Covington, Kentucky. She also led the Community Conversations series that elevated the demands of the Not To Scale Manifesto.

WS 2013 Gender and Social Change: An Introduction to Multicultural Women’s Studies

Introduction to multicultural-women’s studies as an interdisciplinary field and how gender, “race,” class, nationality, sexuality, disability, and other identity categories shape human experiences.  Examination of social institutions, norms, and practices for their impact on the status and roles of women; visions and strategies for social transformation.

 

Multidisciplinary, relational explorations of the histories, theories, cultures, and lives of U.S. women from a wide variety of ethnic/cultural backgrounds.  Themes of agency, survival, resistance, and transformation.
